LEGO gift-with-purchase 40529 Children’s Amusement Park review

One of two gifts-with-purchase available at LEGO.com right now, 40529 Children’s Amusement Park is a nice collection of interactive models.

We were more than prepared to dislike 40529 Children’s Amusement Park, but putting it together and being able to play with each of the three little amusements that are included has more than changed our minds. This is a fun little collection of side-builds that anyone interested in theme or amusement park sets or wanting to put together such a collection of sets will absolutely want to pick up.

40529 Children’s Amusement Park is currently available until May 30, or while stocks last, as a gift-with-purchase when spending £90 / $90 / €90 or more on LEGO merchandise at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores.

The mini set pools together three smaller amusements that could otherwise sit in three separate polybags, with each one as interactive as you’d hope them to be. The ring toss game features a round duck and frog stand that actually turns; the hammer game actually includes a loose piece that can fire up the shaft if you whack the target; and the banana boat ride actually swings just as you’d want it to.

The banana boat swing is the highlight of 40529 Children’s Amusement Park and has a lot more detail to it than you would perhaps first expect – maybe the only disappointment is that such a fun and monkey-themed build comes in such a relatively small size, when you would imagine a much bigger one would make for a great addition to the collection of theme park LEGO sets that have arrived in recent years.

A good LEGO set or gift-with-purchase sometimes gets you thinking about what’s next, what’s bigger, and that’s exactly what 40529 Children’s Amusement Park does. It may not be to everyone’s tastes to build out an amusement park, but this remains a gift-with-purchase with plenty of ape-peal that you’ll just spend hours monkeying around on. Sorry not sorry.

40529 Children’s Amusement Park is currently free with qualifying purchases of £90 / $90 / €90 or more on LEGO merchandise at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores, until May 30 or while stocks last.

Available at the same time is 40533 Cosmic Cardboard Adventures, which is free with qualifying purchases of £160 / $160 / €160 or more on LEGO merchandise at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores, until May 30 or while stocks last. Spends of this higher amount will receive both gifts-with-purchase.

This gift-with-purchase was provided for review by the LEGO Group.
