Stardew Valley creator expresses support for LEGO Ideas set

The Stardew Valley Farmhouse project on LEGO Ideas has reached 10,000 supporters – and one of those fans is Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the creator and developer of the game.

Stardew Valley is a farming simulator with a lot more than just farming under the surface, and has become extremely popular since its release in 2016. The LEGO Ideas submission, Stardew Valley Farmhouse, represents the player’s house and features some of the all-important farm at the front and around the sides.

LEGO Ideas user fourbrickstall, who built and pitched the Stardew Valley Farmhouse, made a post on the Stardew Valley subreddit featuring a screenshot of a direct message they received on Twitter from ConcernedApe. The developer expresses his support for the idea and his openness to allowing the LEGO Group to adapt the property.

This is, of course, a good sign for all the LEGO and Stardew Valley fans who want to see the game represented as an official set, as we now know the LEGO Group won’t run into any licensing issues.

This is far from the first time that creators have publicly endorsed LEGO Ideas projects based on their work, and it’s never a guarantee that the project will be chosen for production. The developers of Fall Guys heavily promoted Ashnflash’s LEGO Ideas project based on their game, and the project was not selected. But, while it’s not a guarantee, ConcernedApe’s endorsement definitely can’t hurt the project’s chances.
