New LEGO Icons 2023 rumours include Pac-Man, Pirates and Corvette sets

A swathe of new LEGO Icons rumours have landed online, pointing to a line-up of sets based on a retro car, a video game icon and something entirely new for the theme.

Instagram user lego_insider_news claims to have information on at least five more LEGO Icons sets arriving across 2023, ranging from Pirates to Pac-Man. It’s worth bearing in mind that this source has so far mostly re-reported rumours from elsewhere, so treat these claims with even more caution than usual.

For now, keep reading to check out all the newly-rumoured LEGO Icons sets said to be coming our way in 2023, and remember that even if these sets do exist, the product names listed here (if any) are probably not finalised.

10315 Zen Garden

Price: $109.99 Pieces: 1,363 Release date: August 2023

A set supposedly codenamed ‘IP Art and Deco’ by retailers, 10315 Zen Garden sounds like it’s leaning into a concept that’s popped up several times on LEGO Ideas. Only one project in that wheelhouse has reached 10,000 votes so far, in Coosey__Goosey’s Japanese Tea Garden (pictured above), but it was mysteriously archived in 2019. Given the codename and price tag, a microscale build is surely the most likely outcome.

10318 [Science & Technology Vehicle]

Price: $199.99 Pieces: 2,083 Release date: September 2023

There’s no word yet on what exactly this set might be, but its codename above suggests 10318 could be a new modern space set, following in the footsteps of 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander and 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery. Those models arrived at two-year intervals in 2019 and 2021 respectively, so the pattern (however limited) suggests we’re due for another NASA vehicle. Mars rover, anyone?

10320 [Vault]

Price: $214.99 Pieces: 2,509 Release date: July 2023

The codename for 10320 is incredibly tantalising, suggesting the LEGO Group will be revisiting a retro model or theme – and that’s exactly what lego_insider_news reckons is in the works, with this set heralding the return of LEGO Pirates for the first time since 2020’s 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay. The price tag and piece count are very close to that LEGO Ideas set, so we could be on to a winner here.

10321 Chevrolet Corvette C1

Price: $149.99 Pieces: 1,210 Release date: August 1, 2023

This year’s first LEGO Icons vehicle is still rumoured to be a Land Rover, but lego_insider_news now claims it will be followed up by another classic car in 10321 Chevrolet Corvette C1. The 1960 roadster will apparently be built in yellow bricks, though exactly what shade of yellow remains to be seen (if it exists at all, obvs).

10323 [Pac-Man]

Price: $269.99 Pieces: 2,651 Release date: June 2023

The LEGO Group has leaned into video games in a big way over the past few years, and specifically retro games with 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System and 10306 Atari 2600. It’s seemingly set to continue that focus in 2023 with a new LEGO Icons set based on Pac-Man, one of the most iconic video game characters of all time, in set 10323. Further details are few and far between, but it’s the most expensive set among this batch…

We’ll say it one more time: don’t put too much stock in these rumours for now, at least until they’re corroborated by another source, and really until they’re confirmed by the LEGO Group. But if they are true (and it’s a big if), 2023 is already shaping up to be another exciting year for LEGO Icons.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
