LEGO Classic Castle Majisto gift-with-purchase rumoured for summer 2023

The LEGO Group is rumoured to be revisiting the Classic Castle theme once again this summer, this time through the lens of a Majisto-inspired gift-with-purchase.

Medieval LEGO veterans will recognise that name from sets like 6048 Majisto’s Magical Workshop and 1906 Majisto’s Tower, though the venerable wizard also appeared in 6020 Magic Shop, 6076 Dark Dragon’s Den, 6082 Fire Breathing Fortress and 1736 Wizard’s Cart. If you weren’t across the LEGO scene in the mid-‘90s, you’ll know him better from 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle.

That modern update to the retro minifigure includes only a blank blue torso – one of the very few common qualms with the 90th-anniversary set – but a gift-with-purchase dedicated to the bearded wizard might offer up a more complete version of Majisto. And according to Instagram user 1414falconfan (via redditor FluffySky6), that’s exactly what’s coming to shelves this summer.

The set is expected to be roughly the same size as last year’s 40567 Forest Hideout, which reimagined 1988’s 6054 Forestmen’s Hideout. 40567 includes 258 pieces and two minifigures, so any Majisto-themed GWP could be similarly substantial – and possibly command a similar minimum spend of £150 / $150 / €150.

For now, take all word of a LEGO Classic Castle gift-with-purchase in 2023 with a pinch of salt. But it’s not the only retro set rumoured to be on the way this summer – a remake of 6276 Eldorado Fortress is apparently also in the works…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
