First image of LEGO Marvel 76214 Black Panther: War on the Water revealed

The first image of LEGO Marvel 76214 Black Panther: War on the Water has surfaced in a Toys R Us flyer, with two mystery minifigures silhouetted out.

While the tiny image of 76214 Black Panther: War on the Water’s box art reveals three of the characters included in the set – Okoye, M’Baku and King Namor – the remaining pair are shrouded in mystery, presumably to avoid spoilers for the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

It seems a bit late in the day, though, because this set is apparently due to arrive on shelves in October, a full month and change before the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel debuts in cinemas. Whether the final box art includes the same silhouettes or not, the secrecy will seemingly only last until the first person breaks the seals and finds out what’s inside.

It’s an unusual move for what appears to be a pretty unusual set, consisting of an enormous black angular vehicle, along with two mini recreations of last year’s 76186 Black Panther Dragon Flyer. There are 545 pieces in the box, and it’s due to retail for $114.94 at Toys R Us in Canada, so expect a UK price tag somewhere in the region of £60 to £80.

The flyer doesn’t specify when exactly next month 76214 Black Panther: War on the Water is due to launch, but three other Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sets will arrive at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores on Saturday, October 1. There’s every chance this fourth (and perhaps final) set could debut alongside them – and the enormous 76215 Black Panther.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
