LEGO Monkie Kid has been nominated for an award

LEGO Monkie Kid is in the running for an award in Australia for its animated series thanks to its studio, following a wider release on Amazon Prime.

Following the announcement that the Monkie Kid TV show would be coming to more countries outside of Asia later in 2021, the theme’s series is now nominated for a category in the 20th Screen Producers Australia Awards.

LEGO Monkie Kid has been nominated for the Animated Series Production of the Year alongside four other shows, all of which are made by Australian animation studios such as Flying Bark Productions, the team responsible for the LEGO animation.

“Year on year local and international audiences get to enjoy an incredibly diverse and exciting array of content from independent Australian production companies. We are extremely impressed with the quality of content coming from our members who have set the bar incredibly high,” said Screen Producers Australia  CEO, Matthew Deaner.

“I want to personally congratulate each of our members who entered the awards this year and look forward to celebrating your achievements at Screen Forever in March 2022.”

The first season and a special episode of LEGO Monkie Kid are available to watch now on Amazon Prime, with more scheduled to arrive on the service later in the year.

The theme has already been confirmed to continue into 2023, presumably with more seasons of the series planned alongside the sets, meaning Monkie Kid may be up for more awards in the coming years.
